This design represents a much older era of jetfighter design, probably late 3rd generation. The Arrow (no relation to the Avro CF-105 Arrow) is very similar to the Shenyang J-8II, being a twin-engined, single vertical stabilizer, Mach 2.35 Interceptor, with no internal guns. There are points of difference, however --- a more complex FCS requiring a 2-seat configuration, wingtip missile rails, and only partially movable horizontal stabilizers. It sort of goes without saying, but a warplane like this would not be an especially serious threat compared to today's designs.
It would be an easy mistake to assume that this design is based on the Su-15 Flagon, as they look similar. The little-known Su-15 is not, however, an interceptor --- it is an Air Superiority Fighter, and thus the equivalent of the F-4 Phantom 2. Compared to Soviet designs, the Type 244 is most similar to the Mig-25 Foxbat, but would obviously be lower in performance.
One last note; this is the last aircraft schematic I ever created using the hand-drawn lines alone. I now trace over these lines in Photoshop to finish my designs.
All the same, the results were pretty good, weren't they? :)
