Colored sketch of a poor wolfy suffering from the full moon - inspired by the terrible night I had tonight. ;)
We had full moon yesterday... first I couldn't fall asleep, then woke up all the time, sweating and nervous.
I didn't know I was that moon sensitive. o.O
Can't sleep... full moon will eat me (or crash on my head?). ;)
Colored by mouse with Photoshop.

"why is the moon down here? It should be up there. Why is broken, oh gosh why is the moon broken? Aaahhh my head hurts.... augh.."
Funny drawing. :P
On topic a bit, the moon has a gravitational effect on the earth and little do most people know that this also has a light effect on our sense of gravity. (We have a gland thingy for that) Most people aren't effect but some can be sensitive to the effect. Sometimes one can just focus onto it without knowing it or just simply let it bother them by thinking of it too much.
It is really just a minute effect really. Though they say crime rates go up slightly on nights with a full moon. So this gravitational effect on our senses might be a slight push. Having ones gravity slightly off can make one a bit irritable.
Anyway, thats what I know about moons and how it effects people. Me I swear I get a headache on full moons and overall have a bad day, but I rarely notice it so I must be imagening it a bit strongly. It's hard to tell after all.
<.<... >.>.... *cheetah pounces on the moon and gnaws on it like a coconut*

Gah! I know exactly what you mean! Apparently, moon cycles can mess with a person's / animal's chemical make up, not much, but enough to make it noticeable. I think it has to do with our sense of balance / alertness (?) It always got rough for my cousin at work during the full moon. He worked in a retirement home, and he always said it was tougher around the full moon because either the patients would feel more restless.
Anyway, this happens to me every full moon. it doesn't make a lick of difference how active I was during the day, my mind and body refuse to rest on such a night.
*hugs*

Was having angst in the night too, the moon didn't occur to me as a cause. I don't see how it could be, really. Isn't it always up there whether the sun shines on it or not? And in the day as well as the night. I do confess to stepping outside and admiring it for a while earlier in the evening though. And who knows what secrets it holds.
I remember having a long string of horrible nights of not being able to sleep, while in my final year of uni. I would end up going to the local 24 hour supermarket, buying energy drinks and snacks, rather than sleeping pills. I probably lost a lot of my sanity that month.. :P
Love the piece ^^

On the nineteenth of this month I was unable to sleep so I was tossing and turning in bed with eyes closed the entire time till I went to sleep half an hour and then woke up to my alarm clock. I thought I was going to be sleepy during my drive but I only yawned once and was wide awake.
Animal attacks are up by 20% on the day before and after a full moion according to one London research organization.
And on a more personal note, according to a friend who worked in a home for the aged, nightmares, aggressiveness and patient run-aways spike during full moon nights. Of course in both cases the heightened nocturnal activity might simoply be explained due to the animals and seniors being able to SEE BETTER out of doors on those nights lit by the full moon than on nights that are moonless..
AFAIK, no one has taken any measurements of the number of animal attacks or patient dis-behaviors on the night of the rull moon when it is totally overcast, raining or snowing.

I love full moons, the moon was full last night too here (thought it was different from place to place, guess I'm dumb lol). I love the full moon because I can take my dog out for a walk in the middle of the night out in the desert where it would be pitch black otherwise, the moon light gives so much light its unbelievable.
I had always have wild dreams on full moon nights. This time, I dreamed that my cat bit my tail and I woke up looking for the cat...then grabbing for my tail...then realizing I don't have a tail. I kind of just sat there half asleep missing my tail.
Sometimes I'm not human, sometimes I don't even speak english...crazy full moon dreams.
Enjoy the madness while it lasts, it will just be back next time!

Alittle off-topic, but being restless on THIS particular full moon is perfectly understandable.
Reason: It was a Blue Moon
No, the moon wasn't actually blue, it refers to the times back in ye olde days when the months were determined by the lunar cycle. the moon actually makes 12.37 revolutions around the earth every year, and so, every three or four years, there would be a 13th full moon, which would throw off the priests who used the moon to determine the proper time to observe holidays and such. Thus, with the 12th full moon of that year being the misleading one, as it confused the dates the most, it was dubbed the 'sad moon' which eventually became the 'blue moon'.
Just a tidbit =3

High metabolism probably. You have a better blood flow throughout your body. You dressed warmer? You don't get stronger by the way. Sorry to burst your bubble, but it's true. As for can't fall asleep. Placebo maybe, or they're just sensitive to how bright the moon is or the increase in magickal energies on full moons :\
I can't believe some of these comments XD haha "howling at the moon" "moon affects me". It's basically all in your head. Moons have nothing to do with wolves or anything. I looked it up. Werewolves too. No moon involved. If you think it does then it will. The Placebo Effect. Wolves aren't howling AT the moon. They're communicating or calling one another. It just happens alot on full moons but it's not for that. It doesn't give you power. It doesn't make you warmer. It doesn't turn you into a wolf. You only think it does.
Sure on full moons I feel more energetic but it's not from the moon itself. It has to do with the distance and light and the air or something like that.
I'm a lycanthrope. Definition is on my profile. The moon gives me no powers whatsoever. The only ones who get the power from the moon are loup-garou I think. I forget, but it's not power. It's a curse where every full moon you change. That's a classic one.
