Never been to good with Heli designations, now airplane designations? Ehhh.... faghetta-boutit!! :D

now I have to see if I can dig up that picture I had of the Bell AH-1 at that pyrontechnics show...

Nice! I got similar ones from RAF Marham but I gave them my camera for sensorship and all I got was a empty camera back! I quess I was lucky! Anyway, isn't the two bladed ones getting replace by four bladed Cobras?

Not too sure, never been a big conaseur of Helicopters.

As far as I know,the last version of the Bell AH-1 Cobra was the AH-1Z SuperCobra with two blades. And only the US Marines still have and use Cobras.

The AH-64 Apache was plauged by problems and complications caused by weather and fine tiny particles of desert sand,making it a hanger queen instaed of useful battlefield chopper.
Now the AH-1W through AH-1Z could go to work anywhere and perform well in combat-and it's been used before in Vietnam and should have been kept by the US Army instead of replaced by the unreliable AH-64 Apache.

I think both have their own strengths and weaknesses.
But yeah, the Cobra's definately the better air support.
The Apache would be better as an anti-helicopter gunship then ground attack.
