Mig-29 Fulcrum , EAA Oshkosh 2022
This bird was a complete and utter surprise to everybody at EAA this year.
An honest to God, Russian made Mig-29 Fulcrum. This is also the ONLY Privately owned Mig-29 in North America. Its owner is a high up on the food chain at Microsoft whos also an avid warbird collector. He acquired just 2 years ago from Russian sources on the promise it did NOT go to the Ukraine nor be used in any military fashion again.
He has the aircraft in current Russian camouflage and had a team of six Czech Aero L-39s camouflaged the same way to accompany him on displays.
This was a complete and exciting aircraft to witness in flight. I've only seen Mig 15s, 17s, 19s and 21s...never a 29 before!
