The Novice - a Thursday Prompt - sci-fi
This one ran a little longer than normal, but I promise it will read very quickly. I found this particular story to be strongly emotional for me - which brings out the best I can do; as it would with any artist in love with their art form.

The Soul Cages is one of my favorite albums of his, and of all time. "When the angels fall" is on the disk I keep playing on shuffle in my truck, part of my "Anti-road rage mix" of soft, calming songs to keep my temper in check when idiots on wheels do as idiots everywhere do.
And it matches this story perfectly. Very well executed, Ms. V.

It's so hard to pick any one album... even from the Police creations as well as all his other work. But, if I could only have just one album it would be Brand New Day. I've worn out 2 CD's of that particular album and will surely burn through my current one and more in the years to come.

I was thinking more that it was the Archangel Michael... the adam project was fully contained, but even in that I'm thinking Eve was an after thought. then again, if I was to write the story I would say that Adam was simply given time to get used to doing his job, learning the animals, his environment, and such. When it was time, he was given Eve.

I'm sure I'm missing quite a lot of context, but the writing here is incredible. Reminds me of pieces with high interpretive value that my professors would ask me to write a short essay on. Your transition from humorous to profound is so on-point as well. It makes the serious end land so much harder.
I also couldn't help but see parallels to the background lore of Evangelion (I know, I'm basic. I'm basic!). Christian imagery/naming conventions mixed with the seeding of planets and weapons that embody divine wrath, all used to suggest profound meaning. *Chef's kiss*
