So in my spare time I sometimes study the projects me and my illustrator have already completed, trying to make sure every thing is running concurrent with the story I had envisioned and also as study pieces for the fantasy world itself. So in this piece I compared the facial tones and expressions of the same character (Cane) from both this piece ( https://www.furaffinity.net/view/48314857/ ) and this piece ( https://www.furaffinity.net/view/47336481/ )

Not only does this piece give me insight into the ageing process of velden, in this case in particular also Cane's peppering is a result of the heavy stress he endures every day due to his job and mental health. In the left image it shows a 23 year old Cane with a completely healthy coat of fur with his natural color of rich black showing deep and strong. In the right image, 17 years later, shows the same Cane though his coat is heavily subdued from its natural rich black, showing for a velden that looks much more senior than he actually is. And I just love how my illustrator  cannedtalent captured the finer whiting around his eyes as well, giving off an air that he is as much grizzled as he is veteraned in life itself.
