Sorry this took a while. I was not happy for a bit on a few things along with my other hobbies and my health.
Anyway, We jump back to Mark not too long after Judy removed the suit's face/gas-mask. We're introduced to the antagonists to Mark's side and learn a bit more about his past. Yes we have a cameo, only because i enjoyed his stories.

I like the 'Culture (Species) Shock' aspects of this story, very much indeed!
Personally, being the only human on the entire planet, I'm surprised they're going to release Mark back out into the public (esp. given his prior crimes of mugging/assault/theft)? I suppose this goes hand-in-paw (sorry, couldn't resist!) of any society that has literally every animal species co-existing, and the rules/etiquette they've have had to adopt/learn just to keep the 'Peace'?
Really like how you've included the more keener senses of the Anthros (Smell certainly, but also body language/posture, very nice touch!).

I try to include that because, yea they have keener senses. I've read too many where they just act like humans and forget they even have those extra body parts.
As for letting him go, that's kind of a special case. As stated, he couldn't just walk up to a homeless shelter or the police for help. He himself noting how some reacted to seeing him. add to that his own fear, from old sci-fi shows of being abducted by their government well, i thought it was a bit obvious of why he chose to do so and once explained why they chose to pardon(other than stallhoof's own personal interests.)
I'm also trying to show him as neither and yet both predator and prey considering that humans actually are. We are prey plant eaters that evolved to first scavenge for meat and later craft tools to hunt for it to feed our growing intelligence because 'that' is the route our species went rather than first developing some sort of natural defense or armament. Not that we need any. I'm going to try in the next chapter to show that as he's evaluated.
