Wanted to do a bit of a quick update.
Overall things are going very well. I took some time off to just settle and relax after spending months of prep for my trip here and then the actual trip. Still a lot of work to do and stress about to work with governments to actually get this trip to be more permanent, but for the most part everything is going good.
Animals have been settling in really well. My dog is being a lovable grumpy old man who hates everyone and everything after the whole ordeal that was the move, but he has started to settle in his own special way. My cat has pretty much replaced me with my beloved and it's adorable. All he wants to do is spend 24/7 getting attention from his new papa when he is not getting himself in trouble with the other cats because he does not know how to properly cat.
Fish and bird have been pretty well at home from the moment we got here. My goldfish Butt did have a small bout of sickness and had us a bit worried because he got a small infection but after some weeks of treatment he has gotten all better. We got a couple new fish to somewhat even out the tank dynamics and so far everyone is getting along. Bird has been getting adored and loved and is just living his best life. Discovered his original sale's paperwork when sorting out some of mine and now the bird is officially the oldest geezer in the house (a whopping 15ish years old).
BIG BIG change I've been dealing with is regarding my computer. Once I got here, my beloved had a good look over on it and yeah, it was time for an upgrade. It's a good computer but was starting to struggle a bit to handle all the work I put it through so we upgraded to a new SSD. Let me say, I have no regrets! I'm able to open and handle larger, more detailed images with an over all high degree in improvement in my computer's processing.
The only issue with the upgrade is that my computer is now way too good. It took some work to adjust my settings to get things to a workable state again but even with that, there is a new learning curb. It detects my line strokes a bit differently now and while that means it's great because it can actually process a wider degree of pen pressure, I have to admit it is still causing me a good bit of trouble. I've been very slow to work on anything new lately because I am still adjusting to the changes.
Obviously I can still draw. Gradually I've been getting used to the changes and I have been working on some of my serious projects like my comic. It just is taking much longer to produce anything as I adjust. In the long run I know this will be good though. I will be able to produce higher quality work and in time I will get used to the new system and get back to producing work at a decent speed.
Till then, I will be taking things slow and easy though. I worry about burning out because honestly there is still a lot going on. Since the move, life has been so much less stressful and happy, I am very much is a better way here. I just am over all physically tired lately. I think after some rest and some last little stressers are handled, I am going to be going full blown into my art again.
