Is this a full-body transplant? Kinda. The process isn't fun.

Some of their mech body's plating is intact and pristine, while other parts have been damaged, exposing the machine muscle and functions within.

I'm curious, do the damaged or missing parts have a pain stimulus similar to how an organic body would feel to scrapes or cuts? I know that pain sucks, but a lot of creatures need to feel pain to notice injury, so I'm curious if they function the same way even in a synthetic body.
