So, this character is the result of an idea that I got at Fur-Eh a couple of weeks ago at one of the writing panels, where the moderator was an editor discussing things like 'always read the actual call for submissions carefully', and he mentioned a couple of the specific calls he had out in passing while discussing people who had obviously not actually read the description of what or how to send the story.

And one of those calls gave me an idea...

So here we have a picture of Doi (which basically means 'earth' or 'mountain'), a bakeneko who's working at a maid cafe while trying to hide the fact that she's actually a cat-demon. The one-eyed cat in her lap is Masamune, named after Date Masamune, a one-eyed samurai. I won't be posting the story here anytime soon as it is currently up for sale, and I don't know whether or not it will be accepted, but after bouncing this idea off of  sonicsweeti and getting her as a pre-reader while asking for a picture of the character, I am definitely looking forward to seeing what happens with it.
