I agree with you on both points. Still, even a blind squirrel sometimes finds a nut, and a broken clock is right twice a day. I think if the goons do show up, there is a possibility she will defend Saffy. Not a BIG possibility, but I don't think she's wholly irredeemable.

Alternatively, she will, Saffy's father's goons will show and Debbie will scrap with them to keep Saffy safe. Though I suppose she could lead them back to the base and let Varden have a go at them:

Varden: "NOBODY MESSES WITH AUNTYLILSIS!!! RAAARRRRR!"
