Im quite disagree with you over this. To not make Mark Hamill voice distorted and sibyllin, like a disembodied entity would be a bad idea. His delivery was still really great.
So Im agree with you that they have done it too much, but I just think that it was a good idea wrongly executed.
And afterall Malefor ain't in his normal state and you could also witness more emanating from him. You feel the power in his voice. Not to say, this makes the character more badass and interesting.
