[Sample] Pluto Revolts - Closure (Devil Chasing Remix)
Here's a sample of my remix of Pluto Revolts' "Closure". It will be available for download from the official Pluto Revolts website in a bit, and I'll let all my watchers know when that is.
For now, you can enjoy this sample or listen to the whole thing at SoundCloud.
Reuploaded because something messed up the first time.

Thanks! ^^
The song "dipping" on the kicks can be achieved in a number of ways. Here I used sidechained compression on all the synths. The compressors are set to sidechain mode and are controlled by the audio of the kick drum machine, connected to the drum machine through the sidechain input. The compressors are then connected to the synths in the usual way. What happens is whenever the kick drum machine plays a sound, the compressor compresses the synth audio as if it was compressing the kick drum audio. Not sure if that makes a whole lot of sense, but basically whenever a kick drops, the synth levels get pushed down. Look up sidechain compression to learn more about it. I'm totally not doing the description justice here. It's great way to make sure your bass kicks don't fuck with your bass lines. xD
I used a few synths in this one. There's a couple of SubTractor synths and a Malstrom synth. These synths are found in Reason. What you can hear mostly in this sample is the Malstrom. The SubTractor's are there, but pushed pretty far in the background just to add some texture. The SubTractors are more apparent in the beginning of the song, and a bit at the end. I usually layer synth lines on top of one another instead of trying to make one synth sound exactly the way I want.
