Yesterday I visited the ancient westgerman city of Trier. Catedral St. Peter in Trier. The oldest part of the cathedral is about 1700 years old, it was left to ruins, rebuild by the Franks, then destroyed again by Vikings, then rebuild in the current form in the 13th century.
