I do however still want an Ipad XD The whole on the go thing. Curious though, I hear there is an android similar to an ipad for much cheaper (or is that the phone?), would apple art programs work on one?

I've heard that android devices similar to iPads are coming very soon. Not sure if any are out yet though.
Apple programs would only work on Apple devices. Apple are very fussy about that sort of thing.
However, there are usually quite similar programs available for Android in most cases.
