One of the conditions for adopting her was to take her in to the vet asap and get her checked out, she needed a shot or two in the first place. So that's what I did some few days after adopting her. She hated the ride there of course, but once she was out of the kennel, she was all smiles. This picture doesn't do her justice, because she is just.. she was just such a massive cat. Big, fluffy, fat girl. Chunky baby. Taking her in, I think she weighed in at 13 pounds or so. She had an eye problem when I adopted her, so I had to give her eye drops for awhile that the doc prescribed, which she hated. The doc told me she looked to be around 5 or 6, as opposed to the 4 years the SPCA guessed she'd be. After being given her shots and the eye meds, we were good to go and I checked in with the SPCA to let them know Bibi's in good hands.
In the following months I learned a bunch of her quirks and habits. Her meow sounds like it's broken, like a scratchy meow that can't quite mature to a full meow. She loved getting in a warm lap and forcing pets, but the best thing about that was that she wasn't selfish about it. She'd lick the hand that pet her over and over, sometimes she'd just lick my fingers out of boredom or something because.. she'd just sit there and lick for like twenty minutes! One finger by one, palm too. It never failed that when I'd go to pet her, she'd look at my hand and lick it with thanks. When she grew bored of that or being pet, she'd jump onto the bed and sleep. Then she'd wake, and come right back for more attention. She loved sleeping with me. If not with me, then on my warm laptop, which I'd always regret leaving on.
When laying with her, she had a weird habit of licking my shirt. Lick lick, lap lap, she'd lick at my chest and arm, then burry her face between my arm and body and just sleep. That was another thing with her. Burying her face in any crevice like an ostrich and sleeping like that.
Around the end of April I decided to make a big move to Washington, I couldn't take her at first, so I asked my parents to take care of her until I'd make the move permanent and come back for her. After about a week over there, my mom called me to tell me that Bibi had gotten outside and went missing for several days. They were too afraid to let me know, I guess they figured they could find her before needing to tell me. Every day that passed I was panicking, worrying, hating myself for leaving her behind and losing her after only adopted her for 4 months at that point. After an incident where my mom's bf found her and chose to leave her outside, (I was livid)my roomie and I decided to drive 1000 miles back and get her. After living outside for what had added up to about 3 weeks, Bibi didn't have a scratch on her, but she was pretty dirty. I've always wondered what adventures she got up to, and I'm still amazed to this day she didn't get hurt considering missing her front paws. She's too badass, the undefeatable Beebus.
