MALAKAS Project - Bal Pyre and Gargantua Pugnae
If you wish to know about the MALAKAS Project, go to Timothy Soro's entry here for more info about the project.
Note: Both Bal and Gargantua are respectively titled "Bal Dragon" and "Gargantua Dragon" lore-wise, so I gave them different last names.
Description:
Bal Pyre and Gargantua Pugnae, unlike their friends Drum and Batzz, were nothing more than good acquiantances with each other, mostly due to being restricted to their duties of their respective tribes. Under the alliance of dragon tribes spread around Central Europe, Bal hailed from Drum's tribe while Gargantua lived in a much older tribe.
One day, the dragon tribes in Central Europe took word of the few people who became bigger and more muscular in a matter of few months. Their friends Drum and Batzz, now seeking to become like them, volunteered themselves to roam across Europe to search for an answer to that. However, Drum had to seek permission from his tribe leader (who was also his father), and Batzz had to assign his friend Bal from another tribe as a temporary leader on Batzz's absence. Gargantua on the other hand wasn't consulted, as Drum found a less skilled but more diligent substitute for leadership.
Throughout that absence, Bal struggled to deal with issues within Batzz's tribe, prompting Gargantua to be summoned to assist Bal on numerous occasion, only with mixed success. Drum and Batzz returned to their tribal lands just two months later, when they both heard Batzz's tribe going a bit haywire under Bal's leadership, forcing the black dragon to solve those issues by himself. However, Drum and Batzz didn't return home just to continue their leadership, instead they were given a blessing to go to the United States, so as to take up on the so-called MALAKAS Project. This would give them yet another absence in matter of few more months, much to Bal's dismay, but thankfully Batzz's more competent substitute had recovered from an injury back in a local game accident.
Things went out fine as usual, albeit without Drum and Batzz around, but then the latter returned home, but as bigger and taller dragons. Their arrival sparked a huge reunion party, but at night, Bal dragged Gargantua along to get to know how Drum and Batzz became that big. Having brought them to his sleeping quarter, Batzz began explaining how he and Drum got big in a rather exaggerated way, but in the end Drum plainly summed up that they signed up for the MALAKAS Project. During the private meeting, other several dragons secretly snuck behind the four and learned on what was about.
Few days later, both Bal and Gargantua, with Drum's help, were granted a blessing to go the US, so as to be as powerful and muscular as Batzz and Drum. After another week, the former two stopped in California, where they would spend another week in a motel, mostly occupied by the lizard tribe emigrated from New York state, before getting a lift to the mountain base. Although Christopher North, the project's supervisor, was excited to see another tribal dragon, he was already full with other recruits in training. So Bal and Gargantua were assigned to an instructor named Simon Nightwolffe. Given the foreign environment, Bal and Gargantua would always stick to each other, always alert with their swords unsheathed, but eventually got to know Simon, who was familiar to his own mandolin (technically a dombra in question) and adept horseriding. Of course, it didn't stop the two from interacting with Chris, only done on a dozen occasions
However, besides their usually plain experience of exercising and promotion up to being Super Soldiers, Bal and Gargantua had to decline a very tempting offer of gaining a temporary Juggernaut ability and return back home, because their homeland was under attack from unknowingly intruding Serbian ultranationalist militia. With a majority of lives lost to some equine assassin, the remaining militia was forced to move far north and stooped into the dragon alliance's border to hide for safety from persuing Serbian soldiers. Unfortunately, having lost their mapping equipment during the manhunt, the militia found themselves lost and had to aimlessly run around the territory, shooting down any tribal dragon charging towards them. Having learned exactly what happened from Drum's letter received, Bal and Gargantua opted to inform Simon and Chris about the current situation and asked permission to let them be discharged and go.
However, such a time of receiving that letter was a month before the imminent invasion of California by the newly built and expansive Beaver Empire of Brisa Creek, and Chris needed a lot of soldiers who needed proper training and defense preparation. After a minute of brief talking betwen himself and Simon, Chris decisively agreed to let the two go, but not without sending him several tribal dragons. Since then, it would take Chris few weeks to receive those dragons in need of training, while his skinny secretary Timur Jacobski was secretly observing the dog and his potentially shady actions.
