I think it was a different name in DA, but this is the correct name.
He is a warrior of the Wolf Tribe and one of Takeru's friends. His sharp attacks are characterised by his instantaneous force.
His armour is based on kendo protective gear. Kendo is a Japanese martial art that originated in samurai swordsmanship. The fighter fights with a men(mask), dou(armour), kote(gantlet) and so on. The difference between kendo and fencing is that in fencing, the main attack is the thrust, whereas in kendo (although there is some thrusting), the basic attack is the cutting. Sable may be closest to kendo.
Kendo has body strikes in its movements and sometimes fighters tackle the opponent and make stagger the opponent before attacking.
I used to do kendo long time ago. I still remember the excitement of fighting in a hot dojo(gym) in the summer, wearing armour and covered in sweat.
