Maleficent Mixes Up Her Fairy Tales

This is an idea I've had for a while. Maleficent is the archetypal evil fairy you see in fairy tales and in the frog prince's original story, it was an evil fairy, not a witch that was responsible for the original curse. So, I mixed the two together to get "Aurora, The Frog Princess." Well, she's a toad now, actually, but that's a kind of frog so it still counts.
This piece, oh my god. It looked so simple and just getting the base linework done totally was. But then Maleficent is just ALL black and that makes coloring the details of her cloak difficult. So I just thought, "Well, I'll do colored lines." But I'd tried experimenting with how I do the lines to speed up my process and it meant that I couldn't change the line colors as easily (my program has some weird quirks you don't expect every now and then). It threw all that off, so I had to redraw some of the lines over the old ones (because I do vector art, so I can't just delete lines without deleting the whole shape that defines the colored area) and . . . well, on the clothes you can tell I was doing this, which is why I reduced the maximum canvass size when I exported it; this hides it better, but you can still kinda tell if you look closely, but I don't think anyone will notice at a casual look. I couldn't fix it without completely redrawing her clothes, which would have taken another hour and some change and I did not want to do this. So, ignore that I said this and don't look too closely.
And once I'd finished that, the thing looked incredibly flat - moreso than my work normally does - and it bothered me. So I decided to shade it, which added another couple of hours to the pic. By the time I had all this done, I was so worn out by just how long I'd been working on it.
But overall, I think it looks pretty good. Dramatic shading adds a nice bit of mood to the piece.
Enjoy.
