Her lower lip trembled in a pout more than the deflation merited. Her rear legs gave out and she sat on her rump, and pointed her snout skyward.
He folded his ears back, bit his lip and braced himself...
“BWAAAAAAAAAAAH! EVERYONE HATES ME! I - I'M G-GREY, AND U-UGLY, AND WEIRD, A-AND NOW I'M GOING FLAT! I-I'll probably j-just be left to l-lie here until the s-sun rots me away-hay-hayyyyyyyy”
Crying ponies made him uncomfortable, especially mares. Nervously, he pawed the ground. “Uh, I could come back later, when you are feeling a little better...”
“No, thats ok, I'll just head to the pond a-and drown myself.” She rose and started to limp a way.
“Don't do that...”
She halted, blinked, thought a moment, and collapsed again. “I'm a pooltoy, I can't drown myself! I'm STUPID, grey, ugly, and weird!!!”
This wasn't getting them anywhere fast... “Who said you are ugly? You're actually kind of cute when you're not on a destructive rampage...”
That had an effect: The tears stopped, she looked at him, astonishment on her face. “W-what did you say?”
“I said you're kind of cute when you aren't trying to burn everything to the ground!”
Not quite the water effect I was going for, ehh, but close enough! =^^=
(And she has the cutest little heart stampys as well too!)
The Grey Mare is based on the evil witch from Pony Island by Stark Apps

Dig back in my gallery far enough, you will find a lot of pictures of my toys. Making them soft allows me to pose them for the random comics I did. You can see how the textures work there.
One suggestion I can give for your work is to not shade with black and highlight with white. Instead use darker or lighter colors than what is being shaded.
Here I used pink to highlight her tail, and a dark maroon for the shadows. In her grey parts, I highlighted with a lighter grey, and shaded with a dark blue.
Going with black and white can make things look washed out, or dirty...
(Oh, and for white characters, like Thistle I shade with blue)
