Kingdom of Anaeland Map
I decided to post some of the map work I've been doing the last couple of years for Greg's Mhar Fantasy, including this player map of the Kingdom of Anaeland from the Player's Book.
The kingdom is roughly an analog to England and is about the same landmass as England proper, though its located on the mainland of the continent and not an island. Livry, on the coast, is similar to London in 1300 and is the center of power of the Crown. The king is ailing and his three sons each prepare for a struggle for the kingdom as the eldest sons hate one another and each plans on making himself king. The third plays the other two off of one another.
Actually, part of the area shown on the map isn't part of the kingdom. A small area in the North is the Kingdom of Harmuria, though its a kingdom without a king. The last king died in battle over a century ago and rather than be absorbed into Anaeland, the people of Harmuria have chosen to rule by a series of High Chancellors, elected princes who rule for life (or retire). The real government in Harmuria is done through the Four Courts in the City of Mages: The Court of Swords (Nobles), The Court of Cups (Archbishop's Chapterhouse), The Court of Disks (Guild Hall), and the Court of Wands (the High Council of Magi). The Annish Crown however continues to claim the Harmurian Throne and seeks to unify the kingdoms, though lacks the money and the will currently to do so (this may soon change).
In the South East corner lies another region, Wilderland. A rough region made up of peoples who have fled Annish expansion over the centuries, the area is a confederation of Hood, Goblins, Noldar (hill dwarves), and Keltan people who continue to resist Annish domination.

well, its only one part of a small island continent known as Durine.
Other regions include Gwythia (Wales), Averne (France), the Three Kingdoms of Lyseria (Spain, Portugal, and a third slightly unique one), the Varian City-States (Italy), Roloth (a sort of post-Viking occupied Ireland), The Principalities of the Holy Empire (Germany), Saramyn Empire (Byzantium), Degorzun (High Dwarves), Osmark (Quasi feudal Vikings), Belannon Plains (a region of steppe-like land ruled by Hun-like people), and the Nicilan Kingdoms (three kingdoms ruled by a race of quasi-Vulcan like felines).
To the north is a continent called Voron which is home to the Northmen (Vikings). Only part of the continent is habitable, most of it is either tundra or ice cap. The civilized zone is protected by mountains and warmed by an ocean current forming a land of fjords in the west and tiaga forest in the east.
The west is dominated by a huge continent called Solumn with vast empires that stretch across most of it. The Empire of Drawnar is the one that most people in Durine are familiar with. From our games its sort one part Byzantium, and two parts Lankhmar/Grayhawk. Beyond it to the west lies the Grand Caliphate and the Shenglu Empire (China). Other empires on the continent include Ghat (India) and Harido (Japan).
A fourth continent lies south of Near Solumn called Calendia and is mostly unexplored. Its northern states are Sahawi (cross between Morocco and Benin with a bit of Prester John thrown in), Moland (very dark place ruled by dark cults, think cross between Tunisia and Ravenloft), and the Sultinate of Kemet (Islamic Egypt, complete with mamluks and pyramids).

No, I used Photoshop for a lot of it. The little keep towers were created in one file and pasted repeatedly where they were required. Likewise the trees were done up on the computer and multiplied using the stamp tool. The hills and coastline were hand drawn, though the cost was traced from Greg's original drafts.
