Well, where else would they be??

These are Shifumi and Pan, though which is which I have no idea.
I had not seen either of these two before as Shifumi arrived from Parc Animalier d’Auvergne, France in 2020, sadly just after the passing of Bristol's older male Chota.
Pan was born at Birmingham Conservation Wildlife Park in July 2020, so I have probably seen at least one of his parents there. It is perhaps fitting that he should have come from Birmingham...

In 2005 two male Red Pandas born in Bristol Zoo went to the Birmingham Nature Centre, I think they were the centres first red pandas. One of them, named Babu, famously escaping and still remembered as being named 'Brummie of the Year' for bringing so much media attention to the city! Even his passing in 2013 at the Highland Wildlife Park was widely reported in the British media. I understand Babu sired cubs, so his blood line remains with us.
Hopefully these two will soon have another generation of mini-wahs setting out into the world.
