Yeah, that is actually one of their uses in reality as far as i'm aware. Extra heat dissipation.

Yeah, this in particular i wanted to have a big of an airy kinda watercolour-y feel to it that some of them had. (and of course they may have done in watercolour)

Mhm. Initially there was a cityscape relatively upclose. Probably would have made for a more immediately impressive and perhaps more internet-engagement-friendly picture, but i did want to have that airy feel to it.

Getting feet wet is great for paintings! So wherever he goes there's just always that urge to walk into any body of water so that i get to paint water.

Nomax has good hobbies. That does look like a lovely place to just stand and stare into the distance, I'd do it. Not for long admittedly because I have the attention span of a gnat, but I'd Do It.
Particularly if the distance was painted with as much depth as this.
