Women of Fidonhaal - Ruth Pionaar: Faithguard Knight
A WONDERFUL sketch by
Snowsnow11 of one of my novel's main characters!
The novel is titled The Saga of Fidonhaal: Daughters of the East, and it is now available in both eBook and print-on-demand Paperback formats on Amazon!
If a fantasy story of adventure, romance, and magic set within a world inhabited by a race of creatures we'd essentially describe as "wolf-people" sounds interesting to you, I hope you might consider checking it out!
If you'd like to check out preview chapters, samples from the appendices, and maps and other artwork relating to the book and its setting, you can check out my profile here on FA, or more specifically this folder.
As for the character herself...
Her name is Ruth Pionaar, and she is a knight of the Faithguard, the overall order of the martial guardians of the Temple of Fidonhaal. To be more specific, she's a member of the "sub-order" of Konothian Knights, which is the oldest order within the Faithguard due to it following the combat style of Konoth Alpharon, the first Faithguard Knight.
Here she stands, happily and proudly posing in her armor and surcoat, and with her order's "trademark" buckler and axe in hand. She spent her youth training alongside other girls and boys to become a Faithguard knight, for she yearned to defend the Temple, which took in her mother when she was pregnant with her and with nowhere else to go, and took care of her and her mother from then onward. She loves the Temple as her home, and is ready to defend it and the people who live and work there, and those who turn to it for help and spiritual counseling, with her life.
The pendant she's wearing was given to her by her childhood friend and sweetheart, Verdok Merchill, who is now her fiancé and the high priest of the temple where they both reside.
