Act One: Helga Die Jagerin
The farmer was tending to his crops as he would strike the hoe deep into the dirt. The iron blade was cast into the earth as he firmly as the man could place is as he would begin to pull back the trail of dirt. The season for planting had begun and the man wanted to do his daily toil's worth before eve.
As he pulled back his tool, the man heard a faint sound from his ear pointing towards the nearby forest. At first, he attributed it to perhaps some refreshing storms coming to help water his field, provided he could plant all his crop before then. While refreshing rain would be plentiful, time was of the essence as the farmer would hurry up to tile the field before planting the seeds.
"Ich best be plantin before yonder sturm hits."
Another sound was heard, it was more distinct this time. At first the man simply attributed it to thunder coming in, until he realized after a few moments that there was no after boom. At this he scratched his head after stopping his tiling. It could be anything he pondered, but normally you don't hear a sudden boom followed by nothing.
"Perhaps some battle be goin on yonder? I best not get involved" he muttered to himself.
What next would make him jump however, he heard the boom once more this time. However, it was much more distinct. it didn't sound like either thunder nor a blast, but some sort of stomp. The mere fact that he heard that would cause him to tremble. He wasn't a well travelled man and he only heard tales of such creatures as elephants, but from what he knew about them none of them stomped as loud as what he heard.
"Oh mi lord" the man simply muttered to himself as he instinctly turned his head to face yonder forest.
He would suddenly see something approaching above the tree brush. A large silhouette and what looked like gigantic horns of a monster rose above the trees. This sent fear into his heart. Whatever this beast was, it wasn't what he was expecting today. Cowardice would fill the man, yet he wasn't sure if to flee as his family was inside at rest within his abode and his crops were his only means of profit. Confusion and fear filled his head as he simply stood there, trembling in derision.
It would become closer and closer, soon he would hear the creature for what it was. It was bipedal, stomping through the forest right at him. Thoom! Thud! Thoom! He could only look up to see birds fleeing the woods, but as whatever approached him. It cleared it wasn't some beast or animal, it was a monster.
Arising out of the forest, literally pushing massive amount of tree brushes out of their way looked to be a terrifying sight. It appeared to be some sort of giant, yet they were blue in flesh and blond in hair. Even more bizarre, they were feminine.
"A frost giant?" the helpless farmer said to himself instantly as he stood there trembling.
It, or should it be said she was soon pushing her way and stepping out of the forest quite literally. She measured far larger than his house, at this stature she looked higher than some of the King's walls. Measuring at what he could only guess was around 30 whole meters, this colossal woman looked like some of raider to him or warrior, with large amount of brown hide to cover herself and had tiny shields on what looked like gigantic brown bracers. She even had on pauldrons connecting a massive dark blue cape. Whoever she was, her very presence sent fear into his very soul.
"GUTEN TAG!" she boomingly called out to him upon noticing the man.
"Ach! Nein! Monster!" the man instantly blurted out as he began to drop his hoe and rush towards his thatched home, only to find the door locked.
BOOM! THUD! THOOM!
With each step, she easily approached making loud. She was easily able to cover the distance as he fell over due to her nearing. The man trembled as soon her massive body would eclipse the sun and her shadow would be cast over him. Here there he was, on the ground trembling for his life. However, she would suddenly smile and begin to lean down onto her knees over him.
"DON'T BE AFRAID LITTLE MANN. ICH AM NOT HERE TO HURT YOU" she said as she would proceed to wave at him with a loud swooshing shake.
"P-please, m-mein family don't have much. W-we just want to be left alone!" he replied, feeling like this was a trick.
"OH JA, DON'T WORRY. ICH JUST NEED...DIRECTIONS?" she replied in a loud and booming voice.
"Directions?" the man replied as he stopped to pant.
"MMhmm, ICH AM LOOKING FOR THE KINGDOM OF SCHLAND. ICH, HAVE BUISNESS THERE. WOULD YOU BY ANY CHANCE KNOW WHERE IST IS?" she stated as she would begin to stand upright and look around with her other hand while turning and scanning the horizon.
"Ich, do. It ist um..das way" the man said finally coming too and slowly getting upright to pick up his tool.
"DANKE" she simply replied as she turned to face the kingdom before slowly lifting up her massive leg.
"Wait! Ist there anything I-I could do for you, mighty Jotunn? I-Ich bin but a humble farmer, but surely you need something? " the man asked trying to get on her good side.
"NEIN, WELL UNLESS YOU MAY HAVE SOME NICE BIER FOR ME, JA?" she said as she would stop and her booming voice would slightly become more perky.
"W-well, we do have a small amount in a nearby cellar. Perhaps, Ich could quench your thirst?"
"OH JA! DANKE! ICH COULD PAY YOU, I HAVE UM...HIDES UND BONES? YOU MANN NEED THOSE, RIGHT?" she asked.
"S-sure! M-Mein wife is good at sewing! Frau, um, was ist your name?" the farmer asked.
"HELGA" she simply said.
As Helga would begin to stomp over, making the man fall over again until she would proceed to move towards a vacant nearby field. She would slowly turn around with several more spiraling stomps before beginning to sit down in the middle. As she would fall to the Earth and her comparably gigantic hindquarters would clash with the ground it would make a loud booming noise that could be heard for about a kilometer. This startled the man, but however this time he became slightly accustomed to it. He would wait after several moments before approaching her for good measure however.
"Ja, let me get you what Ich have. Frau Helga" the main trying to put on a cheerful smile before heading towards a nearby cellar.
"DANKE, UM..WAS IST YOUR NAME?" she asked trying to be polite.
"Call me, Klaus. Frau Helga" the man replied as he would slowly walk over to the cellar and begin to unhitch it's lock.
