A little over two weeks, but I’m finally back! I planned on posting something sooner, but artblock hit as soon as Artfight ended which sucked, but I managed to get some motivation back. Scrolling through my older works really helped, in particular a 2 year old drawing of Azazel made me realize that I’ve only drawn his full body once, and that he needed a serious redesign. His older design was nice, but too simple, so I added some extra bits here and there and I really love his updated look so much better. Something else I realized, is that I’ve shared very little about him before he became Phantom, so here’s some info to know him better:
-Azazel was born with black wings, making him appear as a Fallen Angel, thus being disgraced by his entire race
-His parents abandoned him the moment he was born in hopes another Angel would kill him, since they were unable to themselves. He was instead adopted soon after by a Demi-Fallen named Calista, a piebald cougar.
-Incredibly self conscious about his wings, so much so that he would barely fly just so he wouldn’t make them draw even more attention to him by being open.
-Calista had to preen him herself and make sure he didn’t mess with his wings because he would constantly pluck and bite at the healthy feathers
-If his parents had paid attention to his markings more upon birth, they would’ve found it worrisome he possessed eye-like markings, considering neither parent has markings even remotely close to appearing that way or had genes that would allow them to appear that way.
