Smart as this group is known for being overall, especially whose idea it was to use these dolls, it is a wonder they simply thrashed them around and smacked them rather than restraining them like this.
They'd only have had Jacques to worry about then, and he'd be harder to get to since he didn't turn into a werecat in the cave where his rags would have fallen, nor have a long flowing mane like the ladies. Grabbing his tail and pulling a fur off of it like with Lena here would be the safest and most practical way.
It would not be as dramatic a sendoff, but it would be a nice way to show how merciful the Mystery Inc crew and Beau actually were. Their silent pleas being heard by the cat god and renouncing their need to suck souls of victims, but allowing one more century to live, then die naturally would be satisfying.
