When You Try To Draw On Model But The Characters Look Different Every Panel But You Give Up And Post Anyways.
Eh, whatever, i've subtly changed Martin's design so much since i started that he's just a dour-mooded malleable cat-person shaped blob to me at this point. I'd say the 2nd, 5th, and last Martins on this page are the most accurate to how I imagine him. The last ones on page 10 were pretty good too.
This one took a bit longer! Had a bit of burnout as a treat, but i got back into things well enough -- Also frankly I tend to have no idea what the next page is going to be whenever i finish one, which isn't uncommon for webcomics. Some ideas just come to you, sometimes you have ideas for like 3 pages in a row, but the other times you just have to work to figure out what it's gotta be.
Wanna introduce Martin's friends a bit more so this page is a potential lead-in to that, the text on the phone is meant to give a bit of character voice and personality but it might be a bit small after compression so here's the raw dialogue--
Alex: Homework given, sorry about that (9 unread)
Jake: dude seriously u okay haven't seen you in forever its... (16 unread)
Kyle: DUUUUUUDE YOU SEE THAT 16 TRAILER YOOOOOO... (23 unread)
That was just temp dialogue but i couldn't bring myself to change it, i just love the idea that the others are either helping or deeply concerned about Martin's wellbeing and then Kyle is just excited about JPRGs (even if it doesn't make any chronological sense lol)

To be fair, maybe Kyle has so much faith in his friend that he's not even wasting time texting about the obvious. He's just like "Meh, everyone is turning into an animal person. Maybe it hit Martin. Maybe it didn't. Who knows who cares? I'm sure he's fine or we'd hear about it. Dwelling on it doesn't solve anything" and is just continuing on like normal. Trying to keep a semblance of normalcy in Martin's life. But like all Kyles in life, is tragically misunderstood. F in chat to Kyle, our real hero, who may also be an animal person now and the image in this page is to set up expectations and then surprise us when we see he's a... I dunno. Rabbit. Sure. But that's just a theory. A LAME THEORY! Thanks for reading!
You know, if you didn't say anything about the figures changing between panels, i wouldn't have noticed. :P
Also, the two worst things you can do with a traumatic event is to 1, dwell on it. and 2, use it as a badge of pride or honor. in either case, you're not getting over it, you're not healing, and those around you will be sick of you even mentioning it.

This is why I continually refer back to prior drawings of characters when drawing them again. Now if only that helped... :/

Wanted to ask, have you considered making ref/turnaround sheets for these characters? I think that could help with the whole on model thing haha. Sorry if that sounds like too obvious of a solution or too much work, just want to give an idea. Good page though, like the ongoing story as a whole so far.
