The legendary vampire hunter himself!
After losing his eye and his family to one of the creatures of the night at the age of ten, the young wolf swore his vengeance on the one who did it that very night, and devoted his live to learning, training, becoming the world's foremost expert on vampires and hunting them. There was no time for anything else. No time for fun, no time for friends, not even time for love. Jaeger had one purpose, and that was to end the life of the one who had taken everything from him.
When that day finally came, Jaeger met the vampire not on the field of battle, but in the beast's own home. Instead of the evil, dangerous, confident predator he came expecting, he was met with a frail, weakened parasite, who could do little more than cower in fear and scream as Jaeger drove a stake straight through the beast's heart. He felt no satisfaction, no great triumph... only emptiness.
Years after, he wandered the world. Lost, alone, without a purpose. Vampires were endangered now, thanks to him. And the ones who survived had long since fled. There was nothing more for him to do. Nothing more he could give the world.
That's what he thought, until he met a dirty, disheveled street urchin.
She had lost her parents to beasts of a different form. Had had to scrimmage, claw, fight to survive on the dirty streets of her home. She too, was alone. Purposeless. But she met the storms that plagued her so with the brightest smile Jaeger had ever seen. When he asked why it was she smiled so, she said it was because after all of this that had happened to her, she was at least still alive. The storms of life may perhaps be cruel, but they cannot last forever. Just behind those thunderous clouds, the sun is shining brightly. And what feels better after a storm like that, than the warmth of those sparkling rays, brushing against your fur?
Inspired, touched, the old wolf invited her into his home, where soon he found a new role in life, that of the child's father. And though he's getting on in years, although his heart aches for love, he meets each day with a cheerful smile, for the sun's rays have finally peeked out from behind the clouds.
