but but this pic itself is full of questions. :(
I know where the joints are, but I don't know the substance/shape of those joints and I'm wondering how I could ever know.
Question, could I just visualize hooves/dewclaws as a human hand?
How reasonable would you say that is?
p.s. before in PM you said dewclaws are just below the wrist. This is confusing because when I read that I thought you meant it's not part of the hand anymore. Unless you meant the opposite direction by "below" and I misinterpreted it. :p (if so, my bad)
Also I have it right finally that the dewclaws pivot along with the hooves when pointing inward. But is that the case when pointing outward too? Does the different in angle between hooves and dewclaws ever change under any circumstance?

When you think of a deer's hoof....the 2 hooves as far as BONE wise, would equate to the index and middle finger, on the left, the ring finger, on the right, and the thumb being one dew claw (rotated behind the index and middle) and the little finger the other dew claw...if you were to look at an x-ray the carpals and metacarples are ABOVE that. those hooves are the "Flahes" thats why the dew claws move with the front hooves when mebt, look at your own wrist if you bend the "wrist" all tour fingers, carpels and metacarples move....
to your "P.S. yes I ment the opposite direction by..below....
and yes that is the case when pointing outward too I do not thing the angle changes at all

I think that, in the top with a), b) or c) choices, I think I'd go with A. It falls more realistic as the deer's hooves slightly curve from the weight pressing onto the hooves so that they slant rather be exactly parallel with the upper bone like b and c are. i think.
the perfect hooves is the one on the top left, the right. man, that's hot. and spot on with the anatomy.

I was about to say that A is wrong because the hoof itself is not a joint, but in the pics you showed me, you're right, the hoof is not perfectly parallel with the flesh above it, but rather it juts forward a little.
So I think the right answer is a combination of A and B.
Oh and the pics help, so thanks.
