Martin looks cute with some extra pudge. But how did max lose all the weight he gained in Worlds biggest cabbage? It baffles me. I do wonder how Martin will fare against max.

Thanks, I think so too. Martin really let himself go when he trained for this competition. Now regarding Max's weight loss: At the end of Worlds largest cabbage Max's belly had gotten so enormously big, stuffed and heavy that he'd become completely immobile, and though he enjoyed his full belly he soon also realized that to be able to move or walk he had to lose a bit of that belly weight. So even though he didn't like it at all, Max didn't eat anything for about a week or two and after that his belly had shrunk so much that he was able to walk home again. And the first thing he did when he got home was to eat a huge dinner! So both due to the eating of the cabbage and his continued overeating Max is, as you can see, much fatter at the beginning of this story then he was at the beginning of the Worlds largest cabbage. Though, for convenient reasons, not as big as at the end of the Worlds largest cabbage story.

Oh. Thanks for explaining that. At first I thought it was a cartoon rabbit thing. Like he's only really big and round until he digests his food. Then he's back to the size he started as, plus a little more lbs.

Martin is sure going to have his work cut out for him.

I'm just gonna put my head canon here and say Max and Martin were definitely lovers but since the time this takes place is in 2009 they were doomed by the narrative to just stay "best friends"
