Yes, Max loves to gorge himself and he loves when his belly is hugely stuffed. He often just eats and eats not thinking about the consequences, which not so seldom makes him end up in awkward predicaments. As seen in this story and also in many of the other stories about Max Longear. I love seeing when Max ends up in trouble due to having eaten too much or being too fat. And naturally I also love when Max's belly grows huge!
