This is something that has always bothered me about this comic: How come Martin wins when the rabbit obviously has finished his, while Martin still has more on his plate?

This is a minor nitpick otherwise, and I've always treasured this series. Thanks for making it happen!

Well, when Martin had finished making the cakes (before Max arrived) they had became so big and heavy that he wasn't able to lift or move them from the table. Martin explains this on page 10. That's why he wanted Max to come over to the table and cut pieces from his cake until it got light enough to be lifted. But since Max now is so heavy that he can't move he can't get to the cakes the only way Martin can think of, to be able to get cake to Max, is to split Max cake in half making it a bit easier to lift. So the piece of cake Martin gives to Max is half of Max cake. Martin then returns to the table and his cake, that is still a full, intact cake. 40 minutes later Max says that he has finished the first half of his cake and wants Martin to fetch him the second half. Meanwhile Martin has had access to the whole of his cake the entire time and has during the time Max ate the first half of his cake been able to eat more then half of his own cake. A bit complicated, but I hope you understand. If you look at the cakes on the table in the second panel on this page you can see that Max cake, which is the closest is bigger than the cake behind it, which is Martin's cake. That's why Martin claims that he is the winner.

Well, normally that would be true, since Max is a master when it comes to eating, but this time he ate so much that his belly became so stuffed and heavy that he couldn't move. So even if Max want to eat more he can't. And Martin also ate him to immobility so he couldn't bring more food to Max either.

Martin wasn't really cheating. He'd just made the cakes a bit too big and heavy so he could only lift or carry half a cake at a time. Or perhaps you can say that he was cheating a bit when he placed himself just a arm's reach away from his own cake, instead of returning to the chair opposite Max?
I guess Martin really wanted to win, which othervise, just as you say, would probably have been impossible! :)

this is by far the most wholesome and adorable stuffing/wg comic i've ever read, it's so good!!! <3 the artist does a fantastic job and i love how you've written these two, they're both so sweet and attentive to one another even when they're competing and it's so cute!
