Styles of jaw structures in preds
Something I sketched out today while thinking about how Suzy's jaws work. I thought it might be useful for vore scenes and designing characters, so here it is. If there's anything too muddled to understand, let me know and I'll touch it up.

That is why the "elastic tendon" jaws design is not found in nature. The floating quadrate bone in 4. (snakes) allows for very large prey, but has the drawback that it limits bite strength. A mammalian carnivore the size of a large python has vastly higher bite strength. A snake's jaws are optimized for grabbing and holding, not killing.
Hmm...interesting reference. As of yet I don't actually have any organic preds myself (two are ooze constructs and the other in the works is a demonic being where logical physiology does not apply), but it is highly useful anatomy reference for those who do. Honestly, I've avoided biological preds because I don't care so much for acidic digestion and don't want to explain why the gastrol intestinal process of a creature is non-painful and non-lethal without magic, or how the throat/belly stretches. Yeah, that might be over analyzing it, but that's just me. I like everything up to getting into the stomach; not a big fan of the natural process thereafter.
As a writer this is stull useful for me actually, in explaining in more detail the jaw action and such of a pred, should I make a story of that nature. This puts what would likely be 3-4 different book pages/website articles into one article that I find easy enough to understand.

VERY well put together. I myself admit that a lot of the time when RPing with Tal, it seems that I really RP to suit the situation, and have never really thought on the mechanics of how it would work logically in a real world context. A VERY interesting little reference, and well done to ya! ^^
Excellent Tooth-torial
I find it kinda unsatisfying to just jump from the 'stuffing prey into mouth' part to the 'almost done' part, so jaw details are especially important to me. You've given a fantastic combination of anatomy AND the science (or lack thereof) behind it.

Well, the main thing would be that the collarbones, organs and ribcage would have be very flexible and/or expand out of the way. See here for how it works with a lamia/nage: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4886300/
