Hey, you know who I haven't checked in on in ages? Spunky the Kangaroo. Not sure! Spunky the kangaroo appeared in a miscellaneous bunch of comics, including Novelty Press's Frisky Fables and Star Publication's Frisky Animals/Super Cat. Also several issues of Ajax-Farrell's Spunky the Smiling Spook where they forgot to have the ghost Spunky and reprinted kangaroo Spunky stories.
In his stories Spunky typically gets some bit of sage life advice from his mother, which he then goes off to disregard in a story that gets him into a lot of trouble and often (always?) turns out to be a dream/nightmare. Maybe his best outing is in Frisky Fables #, in a story beginning on page 37 of https://comicbookplus.com/?dlid=34487 in which his mother warns that you are what you eat and he gets to become ice cream, an ice cream soda, a lollipop, a carrot, that sort of thing. Great stuff.
