Ouch..

it defs hurts but i'm already able to put weight on the leg enough to walk around and it feels incredible to have some control back in my life after having this condition for 17 years n being mostly wheelchair/crutch/cane bound

Continue to rest and heal

These pics hurt to look at. During the big snow storm that hit Seattle in the beginning of the year, I slipped on some ice and broke all three leg bones near my ankle. I had to get screws and metal put in and was off of my feet for three months, and my ankle is still not back at full strength. I guess I am trying to say that while I might not understand living with it for so long, I can definitely empathize with your the long road to recovery.

oh god that sounds even more painful!! I chatted with a very nice stranger at the park yesterday who'd broken their ankle rollerskating, we bonded over our shared discomfort of using crutches x0 !

Luckily, since it was my ankle, I was able to use a knee scooter instead. Unfortunately, while in the ER, I learned that I was especially allergic to ketamine, and could not balance with crutches while coming off that. If I were stuck with crutches, that would have been really rough.

I may not be well-versed in skeletal anatomy but that does look pretty promising :3

its wild how big of a difference it is! apparently before the surgery it was also twisted toward the outside of my leg (because the inner knee ligament had been damaged so much from repeated dislocation that it was nonfunctioning n let the kneecap drift away)
