She removed her hat and took a deep breath. He braced for another outburst, but instead she inflated her mane, a gorgeous deep maroon, complimenting her grey pelt. She hid herself behind her hat. A blush spreading across her muzzle. Nervously, she began to chew on her hat brim, giving him the most spectacular hurt puppy eyes he'd ever seen. “Y-You really think I'm cute?”

He hadn't intended on saying it aloud, but the words came out regardless. “Actually, right now you look downright adorable...”

“Squeeeek” was the only sound she could produce as she deflated further, hiding more behind her hat.

“But seriously, what is your beef with the village?”

“The ice cream shop stopped selling my favorite ice cream, Chestnut-spinach!”

“You like that too?”

“What?”

He took a breath and extended his hoof. “They still have it available as sprinkles. I think it is kind of better, since the spinach is freshly chopped. My name is Rimfire, what is yours?”
