Oftentimes the way a dyed piece of paper comes out is what dictates what goes onto it. Seeing the orange and blue with the leaf patterns I couldn't help but think of a deep, cool pond. And I love koifish.
The background was made with acrylic ink and various leaves. The koi was painted with acrylic.
