This new toy head's almost ready for coming to life! I colored in the irises with a marker, and I made a plastic cage in back so the hair wouldn't be flat. I've attached the first layer of fabric hair, with a big solid section to hide the inside. I want to add more hair layers over this, so there'll be strands over all of it and not a big solid green part showing.

I thought about that a little on other projects. I didn't find a source for wig hair that fit what I wanted to do and also made sense for my budget. For now I'm very comfortable with the handmade doll look of fabric or yarn hair. If I want to do something more professional-looking in the future, the hair might be a part of that.
