Exactly...
It didn't turn out as well as I would have liked, but I guess it's not too bad for my second attempt at something like this.

I idea was tossed out that I should paint him. Digging through my junk revealed that I did have some black and white paint and a cheap brush, which ended my excuse to not try.
The hanger is brass wire I hand bent around a 9/16th's deep socket that is hot glued to the back. Aside from getting the bends right, I had to try and keep the grunge from the socket off everything. o.0

Whoa, this is awesome! I think you did a fantastic job painting it and the wire is a delightful finishing touch.
The carving part came out so well; you definitely have a knack for it! You captured his expression wonderfully and the smoothness and shape of the wood is very nice.
