I wanted to do 2 images for her with this Death Spirit "Buruke" . The first was a quick doodle in my black-paged sketchbook. I was capitalizing on the glowing aspect of the body markings... makes for a unique effect. :-D
Anyhow, Ill be posting a second one as well. This character was too much fun not to do another one of!

Oh my! this is absolutely marvelous, for a sketch! You really capitalized on the style a lot! I don't know if it was intentional, but by the way you drew out his rune-markings he looks like he's humble to your traditional north-west coast style! I'm AMAZED!

I'm so glad you like it! I really wanted to take a nice different stab at it.. and honestly, a cleverly concpeted character like this doesn't come about too often. My next image will also be a variation on style. I HAD to do two.
Yes, my NWP style seeps into a lot of my work... and I'm ok with that! Another perspective on a concept is always refreshing!
Can't wait to finish my second one now... it's going to be quite the looker!

Oooooooh, I absolutely love the use of negative space and definitive highlighting <3 one of my favorite ways to approach a picture, and this is the best that I've seen yet!
Especially love the cross-hatching used for the shading : D and great, simple color choices to boot!
