A-day-late post but here's a drawing I started somewhat ago and disappointed in that I planned to completely scrap but I felt some potential in it and I fixed it up a bit until it was just good enough to post, plus Kirby's Dream Buffet came out yesterday and I felt like the themes aligned too well so here you go! :3
Thought I'd do a little story-description for it set in an alternate take on the game, so hope you guys enjoy this too :3
[Scenario: Dream Buffet - Intro]
Kirby was left in awe after seeing the delicious cake and being shrunk by the accompanying fork. Only a moment later he'd look up from the shadows being cast at the “ground” and excitedly wait for his descending friends to join him. But something was off. They had landed, yet... they were still so much bigger than him! Being unable to see their dear friend, who had been near fully covered in frosting, they rolled away to the dream buffet - where the fun events they had planned were about to begin! It was no surprise to them, who had carefully set this up for their heroic friend's 30th anniversary, but they hadn't thought it might've made him so small to where his own voice was unfortunately too small to be heard, and left behind. at first Kirby would feel down for a bit, but seeing as he was still surrounded by cake he thought he might as well get their attention later on when they would be less distracted and enjoy himself for the time being.
Some delicious cake and a sweet nap later, he'd wake to the feeling of an overwhelming presence casting a large shadow over him. He groggily turned over and was met with the curious expression of a lone waddle dee. They looked really tired, but otherwise he couldn't really tell what they were thinking. Kirby wouldn't have to wait long though as the Waddle Dee would gently, although hesitantly, grab and lift him up. He could feel them shaking nervously from their hold on, but before he could react a sudden movement quickly planted him against their slightly-sweaty sole - gently rolling the tiny orb around it. Initially quite shocked at this turn of events, Kirby quickly settled down at how oddly comforting it felt. This wasn't so bad - at least it's really soft. Might as well take a nap, he was sure this waddle dee would bring him to his friends at some point...zzzz
