Thanks!
I haven't drawn these guys in forever--I went through all the trouble of coming up with unique characterization and personality for all of them, and made them fit seamlessly into the canon of my universe, only to just sorta stop drawing them for some reason.
I do that with a lot of projects that seem to have potential and people seem interested in, though...

pff that's just the name of the game
having and developing characters just goes in waves like that. Slipping in and out of muse for certain characters and stories is normal, so make sure not to guilt yourself over it or anything!
they're always there for you to pick back up later :b
I say this as someone who kind of hoard characters haha
I love having my collection and bouncing between them. I forget, do you use toyhouse? or any character storage sites?

That's actually why I never get rid of characters/designs, I never know when I'm going to come back to something later on... it just sorta sucks to have so many that never actually get any attention.
I think a big part of that is just lacking direction most of the time so I just draw the same few over and over if I'm having fun. I suppose if someone wanted me to do more with one of my characters specifically, though, I would be happy to do so.
I don't use Toyhouse or similar sites, actually. I remember looking into Toyhouse a while back when it was picking up popularity and it sorta seemed like it was for selling adoptables or something so I just never bothered. Looks like there's a bit more to it, though.
At this point I have enough characters that a site just for organizing them might be useful, but at the same time I think I might just be better off sticking to the art sites I already have.

yeah I get that, a lot of mine go neglected :c
it is best to stick with what's fun- but if you want input from your audience?
I lean towards more penny possum ;3
or that astronaut cutie, or the jester! there are lots more tbh but I'm bad at remembering names lol
oh toyhouse is mainly for character storage/organization, but it does have a massive market for trading and selling OCs
if you ever want a code, I have plenty! can be SUPER helpful when it comes to storing info and pictures in nice little categories

I really do need to do more with Penny Possum, especially since she's a machine so her consciousness is mirrored across at least two different bodies, the creepy animatronic version and the cyborg version I've drawn maybe once since 2017 when I parted with the car that I designed Cyborg Penny as a sort of mascot for.
I know when you say "jester" you mean Jacques Duncan, but the little gerbil astronaut is a one-off with no development whatsoever so don't feel bad about not knowing his name, he doesn't even have one yet. I guess send me another note sometime and just link some of my characters you like and I'll figure it out.
Bro I forget the names of a lot of my characters too, have you even noticed how many of them have the same name and it's NOT because I tried to use "Dominic" or some variant thereof? I have two characters that go by Buck and a third that goes by Bucky lmao. And at least two characters named "Penny" (or three if you count the two different versions of Penny Possum separately).
If I ever feel like setting up something like Toyhouse I'll hit you up! I know a few of my friends and acquaintances online use it, seems like a decent resource for organizing character refs for trades and commissions and stuff too.

Yes please! I'll embrace her in any form >:3
she's just got such a cool aesthetic going on
Plus she does make me nostalgic for when I was first discovering your work. You've made a big impression! You're a very unique and dedicated artist, and even though I'm not always good at replies, I look forward to the stuff you have to say.
but hey no need to feel bad if certain characters have less attention or development, that's just part of the game.
hmm well that does help me guess which names you like X3
I can tell I myself have certain names I default to when it comes to nicknaming pokemon
because every raichu will be named 'benji' and every gyarados will be named 'ALPHA', etc
TH makes it so much easier to keep ALL of a characters art/info in one place :b
without it so much art of my OCs would sleep into obscurity and get lost. same for character info

I had to say "at least two" because I *never* got around to actually properly designing Didelphis Omega, which is where she basically turns herself into a walking tank with the addition of some armor and a pair of repeating autocannons that swing over her shoulders and usually a pair of machine guns, one in each hand.
The canon precedent for this character concept is nebulous, as battle droids do exist and are fielded, but this concept enters into a level of ridiculousness that borders on parody were I not wanting to play it completely straight. Not to mention, Penny knows that becoming Skynet is a terrible idea because if she exterminates all sapient life-forms from the planet, she won't have an audience. Thanks to her narcissism and need for validation, the only Judgement Day we need to worry about in her case is what happens if she doesn't win Android's Got Talent.
Okay, so in another comment I mentioned that life is shit, and Penny Possum is sorta relevant to that in a weird way that I need to share because you seem to like my ramblings... my second car, the first I bought for myself after the beater I inherited from my grandpa (a rusted-out Pontiac I called "Foxy" because it was red, had holes in it, made scary noises, moved very quickly and was generally terrifying to have around) was a silver Pontiac, that I somewhat affectionately named "Penny Possum" because it too was a janky mechanical monstrosity that somehow performed admirably despite the sheer level of Redneck Ingenuity that the previous owners had implemented to keep it semi-operational.
That car had to be retired in 2017, replaced by a dark grey 2010 Mazda 3 I affectionately called "Aiko" because a Japanese car needs a Japanese name, and I already had a raccoondog character by that name, it all fit together.
Anyways, Aiko fucking died last month, after I spent thousands of dollars on new wheels, brakes, and wheel bearings.
The new car is a 2018 Hyundai Elantra I probably can't actually afford, got ripped off by the dealer, it's what dealers do. Take your down payment and trade in and after fees and whatever warranties and protection plans they sneak in, you put $6,000 down on a $17,000 car and wind up $25,000 in debt. Commissions are open BTW.
I PROMISE THIS IS GOING SOMEWHERE.
Test drive the new car, try the radio, find the local rock station because Top 40 pop sucks. First song that comes on the radio? "Living Dead Girl" by Rob Zombie. A song I associate pretty heavily with Penny Possum for ???? reason.
Second song that comes on? "Possum Kingdom" by The Toadies.
Wait, that's illegal.
I'm not superstitious but that level of coincidence can't be ignored.
Next day, buyer's remorse has set in hardcore. Start the car to go to work. Guess what song is on the radio?
Possum Fucking Kingdom. That's not a new song or even one I think was ever all that popular WTF.
So anyways I'm torn between calling this car "Penny Possum II" because there's a canon precedent for there being the old janky animatronic Penny and the new cyborg Didelphis Alpha that's way sexier, "Silver Sable" because I have an android antelope named Sable, or "Sylvia Silverfox" because I have a silver fox character by that name that I remembered exists and she's currently a sort of nothing-burger eye-candy character that's entirely interchangeable with a dozen others (she's also been dressed in professional attire before which sorta fits with the vibe I get from the car, practical but also sorta fun). Kinda feels cheap to reuse a name like that but there's a definite coincidental/sentimental thing going on that's hard to ignore, also it's an excuse to draw the Penny Possum mascot throwing the peace sign like the Ghostbusters 2 logo. Maybe this needs to go to a vote.
Okay weird tangent over. Wait, you're nostalgic for discovering my work!? I was worried I was gonna get flagged for being a spambot because I was trying to migrate from DA as quickly as possible and flooding the site with my art.
I have a bunch of default names for characters too but that's based on my own characters usually--in Pokemon, my first Arcanine is always "Chance" because Chance Whitefang was one of my first characters and he's a big wolf, and I have named so many characters "Dominic" that the name has lost all appeal to me.
I know the topic of Toyhouse comes up frequently, and particularly when "why can't I hold all these characters?" comes up. I checked it out a couple times in the past, usually because of someone's journal about selling/trading characters or because it's what a client links for me to view refs, but it's not really what I'm looking for in an art site since it's not really a gallery site. I'm more interested in sharing art than organizing characters when it comes to online art sites... That said, it might be worth another look if my financial and health issues ever improve enough to where I don't regret waking up every morning and I suddenly have the motivation to do something online again!
