His name is Astaroth Raevynsol a.k.a. Aster.
The Raevynsols are a family of magically creative minds like inventors, alchemists, artists, tailors, goldsmiths ect. Their views on the world seem to be morally grey. They don't care who you are, if they like you, you're welcome. They practice the dark arts and are highly fascinated by it, but not evil.
Aster had an older sister, whom he saw lose her life in an accident caused by a failed experiment when he was eight years old. Their mother, who was there too, got hit by a dark magic curse, which Aster tries to find a cure for. This is why he tries to learn as much about the dark arts as he can, actively practicing them as well. Their best subjects are defense against the dark arts and potions and they enjoy duelling as well, are pretty good at it. His interests in potions and ingredients for those also helps in herbology.
He can be easily fascinated by things he's interested in and if that happens, his mind latches onto the topic like a leech, trying to learn as much as possible about it. They read a lot but enjoy working with their hands a bit more, so it's learning by doing for them. He sucks at divination and isn't really good at quidditch, would rather watch others playing than doing so himself.
He gets bored easily if something doesn't catch his interests, and when that happens, his mind tends to wander, causing him to space out and not listen at all. This isn't cause they wanna be rude, they just can't help it. He loves looking at and talking about gemstones and animal skulls, which is something to get him to snap back into reality really quickly, and also loves watching the black lake through the windows in the slytherin common room.
