1999 + 2001. Robotic pets (and bulldog!)
I didn't know what I was doing with this one, but I did know I wanted to do a piece regarding a coupla real-world robot dogs that I've been ogling for over a decade now, the I-Cybie (left) and the Aibo (right). Then I just kinda kept stumbling into ideas; ooh, what if there's an organic puppy with them! And what if they're outside during a cozy, warm-colored time like dawn! And what if it looks like a frame out of a shitty 2008 CGI talking animal movie meant to babysit your children! Now I keep thinking these three are on some kinda emotional adventure, like Homeward Bound but with outdated, grossly expensive toys who become buds with brachycephalic puppies.
