‘Huh,… this journal makes mention of brief sightings of what might be a ‘fabled white serpent’, think it might have been Ozzy? Or maybe one of his parents or something?’
‘Oh? Well,… it could be, I’m not really sure how old he might be,…’
“So the treehouse I live in wasn’t built by me, or even the Islanders, but rather by a scientist and adventurer who lived on the island long ago. Professor Thaddeus Brightstone came to the island ‘many seasons ago’,… the Islanders don’t really track the passage of time,… to explore and record the many ‘wonders’ of the island. He and his assistants quickly befriended the Islanders and were welcomed among them, but he insisted on living apart from them, to not interfere with their way of life, so he built this tree house just beyond the beach of the southern shore, but still within the safe area.
He was the only one before me to venture into the jungle and survive, but he wasn’t a thief out to find treasures, what he sought was knowledge, on anything and everything on the island, he studied all he could, and he wrote everything he learned down in lots of these journals. I’m not exactly sure what happened to him, but by the time I was brought to the island he had been gone for a long time, but he left behind the treehouse and all of his journals, and lots of other books too.
The Wisps helped clean and fix up the treehouse, and now me and Ozzy live mostly here, and Carissa spends a lot of time here too,… it’s a nice, quiet, peaceful place to rest. I’ve been reading through the journals, and have learned lots about the island, which has really helped me a lot in being prepared to deal with all the dangers of the jungle when I have to.”
‘Hmm,…. According to this, you can use the juice from Magma Fruit to make a grease that make whatever you put it on fire proof, for awhile anyway,… huh,… I wonder,…’
From
usagiforehead comes this nice peaceful picture of Ember and Carissa relaxing and reading in the treehouse.
A cute and wholesome picture yet again from Usagi which really depicts these two quite well. Carissa looks really cute laying there happily reading, one can just about imagine her fluffy tail swaying back and forth as she does so. Ember looks great as well, a rare thing to see her looking so calm and peaceful, and I really love the way Usagi drew and colored her hair flower here, very nicely done. I also find the clearly photo-shopped in sliced fruit in the bowl, amusing, a nice touch. I love the lighting in this picture, it really gives a good feeling of a warm, sunny day outside, which really adds to the peaceful and relaxing feel of this picture. Even Island Guardians need some quiet time to rest and relax, and this cure and fun picture seems to show that very well. :)

Well well. Some nice information being discovered in the books Ember and Carissa are reading :). Really shows some pieces of the island's past :).
I think it's time's like these are really wholesome to see :). Yes action scenes and perilous situations are great and awesome, but it's also nice to see calm and wholesome moments like these :). And with this done by Usagi, they really caught the moment :). Really great pic :D

Indeed, reading can be very informative, and thanks, I wanted to try to give the island's past alittle more substance. :)
Glad you think so, and yeah, action and peril are great, but quiet, wholesome moments like these are just really nice too. :). Oh, indeed, great job by Usagi here. :)

To be fair, when trying to learn about the jungle, reading some journals alongside your friend and some fruit is probably better then finding everything out yourself. ;)
In either case, a really cute pic of these two and a good explanation for how Ember always knows so much about the island, you know, aside from the finding it out herself. ;)
