Tekxach, pronounced /ˈtɛʼzɑk/ is a basilisk with a hypnotic and petrifying gaze.

At his will, his eyes flash a bright blue. Upon making eye contact, the victim becomes locked in a light trance, unable to break away from his gaze. Over the course of 10-30 seconds, the victim's body slowly hardens all over, as they turn to stone.

If the gaze is broken prematurely the victim will slowly revert. Mirrors and thick refractive material will negate the gaze's effect. If the victim is broken or deformed in an otherwise mortally wounding way, the petrification cannot be undone. And no, you can't just wear sunglasses.
