Mewtwo is someone I’ve always been impressed and intimidated by. After seeing the first Pokemon movie as a kid, the guy definitely left an impression. It helps I love Psychic types; my favorite is type is Ghost, but Psychic is tied with Fairy for a close second. I never really thought of what became of the anime Mewtwo after the movie; after looking it up, it’s nice to see things ended so well.
The only time I’ve run into him in a Pokemon game was when I played Blue as a kid. I think that ended with me knocking him out while I was trying to catch him. Otherwise, my only experience with Mewtwo in games has been in Smash. I love playing as him; he’s a bit tricky with how light and tall he is, but the sheer power is amazing.
There’s surprisingly little of him hypnotized, though admittedly, that might be due to a combination of “how do you entrance a ludicrously powerful psychic”, and the general alien cat look he has going (I like it, personally, but I get why it’s not everyone’s cup of tea).
Whatever the case, hopefully this is the start of that changing!
Mewtwo smiled as he watched Pikachutwo scamper down the hall. It was nice to see the Pokemon having fun. He’d mentioned how he used to have a castle, and soon enough, the other Pokemon were asking to see it. After checking to make sure the castle was still there, and there would be no one to see them, he’d teleported them all there. It had served as an excellent place to stay for the last month; the Pokemon were enjoying themselves, the plant life provided plenty of food, and there wasn’t a human in sight.
….Someone was coming. Curious, they didn’t seem to be human or Pokemon. What were they?
Mewtwo turned to face the new arrival.
Kaa slithered across the stone, looking around in search of his target. He’d heard the rumors from the Pokemon; how a tall feline of incredible psychic power lived here, protecting his fellow Pokemon. Now where was-
“Boo.”
Kaa yelped, whirling around to find himself face-to-face with a Pokemon he knew hadn’t been there a second ago.
Mewtwo smirked. “Interesting. It’s not often you see a creature that isn’t a Pokemon.”
Kaa nervously waved his tail. “Hello…”
“Let alone one that can talk,” Mewtwo continued. “For what reason have you come here?”
“Honessssstly, in ssssssearch of you,” Kaa replied. “Asssss you can probably guesssss, I’m sssssomehat unique. I thought it would be interesssssting to meet ssssssomeone elssssse who’ssssss one of a kind.”
“There’s a Meowth you may wish to speak with,” Mewtwo said dryly.
“Ah, I’m familiar with him,” Kaa chuckled. “Ssssadly, he would be unable to provide me with the other reasssson I wanted to meet you: a chancsssse to challenge the sssssstrongesssst psssssychic.”
“You wish to fight? Far be it from me to decline a battle, but I doubt you would survive,” Mewtwo smirked.
“No no no, not a battle!” Kaa hastily replied. “You would cccsssertainly desssstroy me in… honesssstly, almossst anything. But there isssss one thing I’m confident in: hypnosssissss.”
“You possess that ability?” Mewtwo asked. “And you would seek to control me?”
“…It doesssssn’t sssssound very good when you phrasssse it like that,” Kaa winced. “Obvioussssly, were you to retaliate, I would perisssssh or be left a mind-controlled ssssslave in sssssecondsssss. I’m never going to be the sssstrongessst psssssychic – I’m not psssssychic in the firsssst placssse – or combatant, but I want to become the sssstrongessst hypnotissssst, and that requiresssss the ability to overcome anyone’ssssss ressssissstancsssse.”
“Why? What drives you to seek dominance?” Mewtwo scowled. “And if you succeeded, what would you do with that power?”
“If I had that power… honesssstly, I doubt my life would be much different. Perhapssss ssssssurvival would be easssier, prey and potential protectorsssss more eassssily entrancssssed, but otherwise, I’d live assss I have for yearssss. Hypnotizing creaturessss, ssssseeking to become closssser, to underssssstand and play with them, to help fixssssss their troublesssss,” Kaa smiled. “Honesssstly, I’m manly interesssted in becoming the ssssstrongesssst hypnotisssst to sssssee if I can. The challenge issss there, and I want to overcome it, to pussssh mysssself further and further…”
“Intriguing,” Mewtwo chuckled. “You almost sound like a strange mix of a human I met recently, and a rather ambitious Hypno.”
There was silence for a moment, and then something – multiple somethings - darted through the shadows. Before Kaa knew it, he was surrounded by Weaviles.
“Very well, I accept your challenge,” Mewtwo smirked. “You have 15 minutes to hypnotize me. I won’t attack or attempt to avoid it, but I will resist.”
“That being said,” Mewtwo added with a glare. “Should you attempt to attack me or the Weaviles, we will retaliate, and you will not have the time to regret your decision. The same applies if you attempt to hypnotize anyone here but me, or if you should somehow succeed and attempt to use me for anything untoward. Are the rules understood?”
Kaa gulped. “Understood.”
Mewtwo nodded. “Are you prepared to start?”
“Hold on, thissss requiressss eye contact. The clossser the better,” Kaa commented, slithering until he was face to face with Mewtwo. “Now, I’m ready.”
“Excellent,” Mewtwo replied. “Begin.”
Kaa’s eyes started to swirl with color, Mewtwo smirking in amusement at the sight. The spirals were lovely, spinning about with beautiful colors meant to soothe and seduce. He had to admit, they packed a surprising punch; he could feel them nudging at his mind, gently brushing and stroking as they attempted to get through. They wouldn’t be succeeding anytime soon, and he felt no need to continue looking, but he could see a lesser mind falling quickly to them.
Kaa’s tail stroked his back, and Mewto glared. “What, exactly, are you doing? Bear in mind the consequences of breaking the rules.”
“It’sssss not an attack, ssssssimply sssssomething to help you relaxssssss,” Kaa smiled.
“Use every trick at your disposal, and it still won’t be enough,” Mewtwo scoffed. The sensation of scales across his skin was a strange one, but not necessarily a bad one. He was loathe to admit it, but the way the tail kneaded against him, petting and pressing as it slid around his body, almost felt nice. Some leftover instinct from Mew? He could see the smaller Pokemon enjoying this.
He could swear the colors weren’t so bright a second ago, that they weren’t spinning so quickly. It was a slight change, but still notable; his resistance was faltering a bit, and he felt a faint longing to see more, to keep staring into the spirals. He supposed it was surprisingly good progress for 6 minutes. Still, at this rate, Kaa wouldn’t be winning; the time limit would be up before he was halfway hypnotized.
…Why was Kaa smirking?
“Ussse every trick, you sssssaid?” Kaa snickered, reaching into his coils with his tail, the rest of its length still on Mewtwo – how long was this snake? “I can’t imagine you’ll regret sssssaying that.”
Kaa pulled out a familiar-looking metal disc on a string: a Hypno’s pendulum. Mewtwo had just enough time to wonder where he’d gotten that before the pendulum began to swing, and Mewtwo shoved down the urge to follow its sway. On its own, it would barely be notable, but combined with the bright and beautiful rainbow backdrop of Kaa’s eyes, it was almost hard to resist. It didn’t help how the colors seemed to reflect off it, sparkling and shining in all sorts of ways…
Mewtwo shook his head, eyes never leaving Kaa’s. He was hardly going to succumb to this. How long had it been? 8 minutes now? He could easily endure 7 more minutes.
Kaa began to sway to and fro, his body twisting along the ground in a chaotic dance. Mewtwo would have raised an eyebrow if he had one, but his attention was caught by the pendulum. He hadn’t noticed before, but there seemed to be a gem of some kind set in the middle, one that had started glowing with Kaa’s colors as soon as he’d started his dance. Something about it made him want to look deeper, to just stare into the pretty colors and
“Relaxssssss…”
Yes… Relax… Wait, no-
Beads of sweat were trickling down Mewtwo’s face as he struggled to tear his eyes away, to go back to looking at Kaa’s. The snake on his own was no match for him, his own colors nothing compared to the spectacle he was witnessing. It was becoming a struggle to think, his thoughts turning more and more towards the colors as the outside world seemed to fade away. The constant petting didn’t help, the snake’s strokes growing more and more soothing.
“You agreed to be hypnotized, remember? You like thisssss feeling, don’t you? You can ssssimply ssssink and sssssubmit, ssssafe and ssssound…”
Mewtwo’s pupils began to shrink, a smile creeping up on his face. That… did sound nice. He’d agreed, right? He liked this feeling… And the other Pokemon could keep him safe…
Why was he resisting?
Mewtwo’s eyes shot wide open, the Pokemon staring deep into the colors with pupils the size of pinpricks and a small, silly smile. The spirals felt wonderful as they swept through his head, thoughts swept aside in a flood of the most blissful, beautiful rainbows he had ever seen. It was like he was floating on a fluffy cloud, soft and weightless as he drifted through the sky. Every worry, every bit of his pride, anger and power seemed so unimportant now; all there was, all that mattered, were Kaa and his colors.
A light nudge to his side, and Mewtwo began to sway with the snake; a bit of direction, and the psychic began to swing his hips in circles, his mouth falling open as his tail swung about behind him. Kaa grabbed the pendulum with his mouth, his tail free to creep up Mewtwo’s leg. The Pokemon shivered in bliss as the snake explored his body, strokes and squeezes wringing out happy moans. Soon enough, he was coiled, and his previous pleasure seemed like nothing compared to Kaa’s full-body massage. Mewtwo practically melted into the coils, his tongue flopping free from his mouth as he panted and purred without a care in the world.
He'd started drooling by the time Kaa spoke up, the pendulum kept swinging by his tail. “You’ve been ssssuch a good boy, Mewtwo. Ssssso eager to help, to protect, to ssssserve. You’ve cared for quite a few, and I’ll care for you in turn, taking up the burdensssss of thought and free will. You’ll be free to relaxsssss, ssssafe and ssssound, blisssssful and obedient. Play, protection, conversssssation, food – you’ll provide it all, the sssame way you would for the Pokemon. I’ll be your masssster, and you my precsssssiousssss pet, cuddled, cherished, and coiled with a head full of colors.”
Eyes whirling with color, tail thrashing behind him, drool dripping from a dopey smile, Mewtwo had never nodded faster. “I’ll obey! I’ll provide any service, meet any need! A life with Master is paradise; I’ll gladly be your pet!”
A final tug on the neck, and with a PING!, Mewtwo broke out into the biggest, goofiest grin of his life.
Kaa chuckled as he scratched his pet behind the ear, Mewtwo purring in his coils. 13 minutes, and Mewtwo was an adorably mindless mess. If he ever figured out how to accomplish this without some kind of boost, he’d definitely be the strongest hypnotist: those Malamar would have nothing on him! As it was, though, he was so glad he’d come across that Grumpig pearl; normally, he loathed poachers, but in this case, it had been helpful. Who knew it would fit right into the pendulum he’d borrowed from an entranced Hypno?
It was nice to have some good luck for a change.
As it was, Mewtwo was quite a catch. Phenomenal psychic power, cuddly from the waist down, and surprisingly cute.
The teleporting abilities and access to adorable Pokemon was just the icing on the cake.
A tap on the back of his head snapped Kaa from his thoughts. He turned to see an annoyed Weavile behind him.
“So, you won. Want to snap him out of it sometime today?” she snapped.
“Can’t I have fun with him firssst? To the victor goesssss the ssssspoilssssss, after all, and thisssss victory took 13 minutesssss of everything I had.” Kaa replied.
“…If someone needs something, you’re either waking him up, handling it yourself, or having him deal with it. And your ‘fun’? It’s gonna be supervised,” she growled, holding out her claws. “He wasn’t kidding about our speed, you know.”
“R-right,” Kaa gulped. “Worry not, I’ll follow the rulesssss. I rather like having a head.”
“Good. Now that that’s settled,” she smirked. “Want to see if that pendulum works as a cat toy?”
Kaa stared for a moment, and returned her smirk.
