
A meeting in shallow, warm waters between the reef-loving humphead wrasse (Cheilinus undulatus) and the typically more oceanic but inquisitive false killer whale (Pseudorca crassidens). A personal illustration based on some more dreams and explorations.

Abzu is such a delight, I did listen to the soundtrack a whole lot while I was painting this. Pseuds are underrated <3 I didn't quite realise how large the wrasse can get until I was doing size comparisons, it's not too far off accurate here though the wrasse is closer. They're big lads!
They weren't intentionally supposed to look like Tuq's eyes, but you know what, let's just pretend that it was! xD They were actually a reference to the first encounter I had which was far more surreal
