Something erupted from the treetops behind the group. The dark silhouette of a large pegasus circled overhead.

Green looked up concern in his eyes. “You had better get out of here, I don't know if I'm allowed to talk to other ponies. I don't want to get you in trouble as well!”

“Green, no! We're here for you!” Thistle braced herself beside her friend. The others formed a line next to him.

The large pegasus touched down a short distance away from the group, and slowly, almost hesitantly walked up to the group.

Green's eyes grew wide in recognition. “D-dad?”

“You have a fine set of friends, son. Their loyalty is commendable.”

“Yes, sir...”

Thistle spoke up. “Are you going to yell at him? We came here of our own accord, he didn't do anything wrong, he shouldn't be punished like this.”

“You are Thistle?”

“Yes, sir.”

The stallion looked her over for a moment. “I see, you are all right with what happened to you?”

Thistle blinked. “He didn't mean me any harm, it was just a prank. We pull those on each other all the time.”

“You do understand that that part of the deep forest is extremely dangerous to ponies. We rarely travel there for a reason. You were lucky to escape relatively unharmed.”

Thistle looked down and scuffed the earth with her hoof. “But, I did get out. And he's my friend. I hate seeing him sad like this. C-can't you just take him home?”
